Golf Fitness adds yards to your drives

Most people think that golf is hardly exercise – just a walk through the country. They could not be more wrong! You use a lot of muscles when playing golf, and if they are not in good shape, you will not play well. You need to get golf fitness.

In fact, if your golf is a bit off, the chances are that you are lack golf fitness. You have only got to watch Tiger Woods hit a tee shot to see that power is needed to play golf at the Pro level. What is not so obvious is that as a club golfer you need to have enough power to hit decent shots, and you need to be fit enough to walk up the hill to the second shot at the eighteenth without feeling tired or worn out.

Watson and North, who have played 144 consecutive holes together without a bogey, teamed to win the Raphael Division the last three years, but it was always unofficial money. The Legends Division of the tournament, an individual affair since 2002, switched back to team play this year and declared the earnings would be official money in the annual rankings. Watson chipped in for birdie on the par-4 14th to give the team a two-stroke lead at 21 under. Sluman and Stadler, starting the day three strokes off the lead, didn’t make their first birdie until the fourth hole. Sluman hit a 17-degree utility club from 240 yards within an inch for an eagle at the par-5 11th that got them to 17 under, just one back of the leaders at that point. read more
