With the $6 million junior golf center in Dyker Beach Park well on the way to completion, the course is expected to be open for area youth by summer, 2008. David Rivel, the executive director of the City Parks Foundation, the organization behind the project, said that work has already been completed on the outdoor portion of the center, including the putting green, the chipping green and a six-hole golf course. Rivel said that, in conjunction with the development of the junior golf center, the foundation had convinced the city’s Department of Parks and Recreation and Department of Transportation (DOT) to construct a 600-foot-long Greenstreets project on Poly Place, in the middle of the street, as a safety measure. The reason is to prevent cars from making left turns in or out of the golf center entrance which is at the intersection of Poly Place and 14th Avenue, said Rivel. read more

This is because these are the things I have found have helped improve my swing and my golf game most. When I have a problem with my game, I go to the pro who just checks my stance, my grip and he sees me hit a couple of balls. It usually needs only 5-10 minutes of his time.
