It was the Artesians’ 10th state title — tops in the state — under coach Sharon Most, and their first since 2000. In winning the individual title, Brebeuf Jesuit’s Sophie Hayashi rallied from two strokes down to tie Carmel’s Milena Savich at 146. Savich had hit into the rough on her tee shot and that left her with an unplayable lie and forced her to take a penalty shot. Hayashi helped defending state champ Brebeuf to a fifth-place tie in the team race after the Braves shot a 324 on Saturday. NEWFANE — Greens at Newfane Golf Course were damaged by two juveniles riding ATVs Wednesday evening, Niagara County sheriff’s deputies said.
