Play at the Old Course in Musselburgh
Monday, May 19th, 2008If you want to play golf on one of the oldest courses in the world, you can, and it will not cost you much at all. This is the Old Course at Musselburgh, on the eastern outskirts of Edinburgh, Scotland.
It is said that the course was in use in the 16th century, and that both Mary Queen of Scots and King James VI played there. But what we do know is that as long ago as 1788, John Cochran appointed Keeper Surveyor General of the Links, so the course has been in operation for at least 220 years.
